My Life as a christian
My life as a Christian I have done a whole lot of things, went to church, had revival, went to gospel sings
Had prayer meeting with the crew, some old some new, every wed you could bet I was at the youth group.
Every time the door was open you seen me walking through it, whether it was a good day or if I was going through it.
First thing I seen was the alter so I run to it, found my place of peace that only God could give
Yeah this is how I grew up; this is how I still live
Give me a minute; I hope that you listen while I tell you about my life as a Christian.
Things were not always great, but we had some great times.
Not to mention all the saved lives.
Had a family that sang for the lord, still singing today I bet they wish they could do it more.
I remember even as a young son, feeling the power of God move when the songs were sung.
Seen everyone crying when grandpa would sing, because they knew God changed His life, thanks to Calvary.
These are things I been through and I miss it, just trying to give you an idea of my life as a Christian.
I have been lonely, been hurt, been lied to, been out of work
I been happy, I been sad, I have done some things that I wish I never had.
I have sinned, I have repented, oh how I have repented, when I should have just had to pay the sentence.
It’s not always easy, had a lot of people in and out of my life, and had a few people that stayed even when things were not just right.
Split between a mom and a dad, remarried, yeah that made me mad.
Took a while to realize that dad really loved me, done a lot of bad things, but always hugged me.
I remember the day that it finally hit; it was when my uncle got loud and made me split
I seen dads reaction and right then I knew, that I had a father in heaven who loved me and one here too.
Mom was always working to give us what we needed, I was a bratty kid and once in a while I needed a beatin.
This chapter of my life is over, grew up now, got a little older
Now I am living in the south, found out what good country cooking is all about, believe me, but I still can’t stand the sweet tea.
Of all the things I learned in Michigan, and all the things I went through, don’t be surprised when I say God can work on me here too.
Had to deal with some things and clean my life up, it was a struggle to get over her but it’s all packed up
Got back to work doing what I was supposed to do, got involved in the church and my life’s evolved too.
Got the call to preach about a year ago, that was one road that I never thought I was going to go.
But God confirmed it with grandmas smiling face, so I accepted and I took my place.
The work is just started; there is plenty to do, so I wrote this poem to help encourage you.
Things don’t always go the way that you hope, but all of us have been called and we all have a mission
This is just the first 26 years of my life as a Christian.
